About the Foundation
The Ipswich Education Foundation is a nonprofit, 501c3 organization dedicated to supporting the excellence and enrichment of public education in Ipswich, MA. Established in 1995 as the central fundraising and advocacy group for the town’s schools, the Foundation has raised and awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars for programs that provide enhanced educational experiences for our students and teachers.
Today, the Foundation is a solid, well-managed organization led by a board of directors made up of parents, executives, local leaders, and elected officials. It is the Foundation’s hope that collaborative investments in our youth will yield benefits that extend beyond these programs, building a stronger and more richly connected Ipswich community.
Over the past few years, we have successfully completed campaigns and supported grant applications such as:
$100,000 raised for Welch Stadium Pressbox
$10,000 in grants issued to allow financially struggling students to participate in school and community activities and events, such as field trips and summer opportunities.
$4,000 to sponsor the High School robotics team, a recent initiative in the growth of STEAM offerings
$5,000 towards Sustainable Education efforts like installing water bottle fill stations in all four buildings.
$3,000 to support a new environmental education program (Change is Simple) for the elementary schools and middle school.
$20,000 to replace the sound system at the High School Roundy Gym.
$15,000 to refinish the Roundy Gym wood floor. Project included two Ipswich High School art students painting the new Tiger logo on the floor.
$15,000 to replace aging athletic equipment
$50,000 upon the retirement of Winthrop Principal, Carolyn Davis, for professional development of teachers across the Ipswich school district
