IEF THANKS ALL DONORS

To the editor:

Thank you, donors. Because of your generosity, the Ipswich Education Foundation (IEF) has been a resource for funding activities in the Ipswich School District.

Our year-end fundraiser added to prior donations, replenishing funds expended by Ipswich String and Jazz Society, athletics, STEAM, the Carolyn Davis Fund, McAdams Wishing Well, Birth to Three, Coelho Fund, and the Georgina Jill Traverso Art Education Fund.

Your contributions made possible the following:

  • John Wigglesworth’s educational talk regarding the present state and ongoing transformation of the Arctic Ocean system

  • Scholarships for musical lessons and summer programs awarded via Ipswich Strings and Jazz Society.

  • Maintenance of gifted orchestra string instruments and for a newly acquired drum set, including protective covers (anonymous donor)

  • Professional development for advanced certification supporting several teachers (the Carolyn Davis Endowment)

  • Discreet funding of needs noted by teachers for financially strapped students’ participation at both elementary schools (items for Crane Beach Day participation; each school receives the same amount from the McAdams Wishing Well Fund)

  • Fees for national competitions, such as Tech80 Race supplementing funds raised by students and parents awarded from the STEAM account

  • Supported indoor/outdoor athletic facilities, including substantial projected costs to renovate the Snack Shack, varsity sports uniforms plus HUDL subscription (athletics account)

  • Sustainability project-based learning program supplementing curriculum (Change is Simple) for grades 4 through 11 granted from the general fund

  • Scholarship given annually for graduating senior interested in environmental/ sustainability post-secondary studies (awarded from sustainability)

  • Support visual arts/display and framing of art for public viewing/scholarships (through the Georgina Jill Traverso Art Education Fund)

IEF looks forward to supporting the Ipswich School District community similarly this year. We welcome the opportunity to meet regarding volunteer opportunities, e.g., board participation; please feel free to email info@ipswichedfoundation.org or call Ingrid Miles at 978.471.9750. We hope to hear from you soon.

With gratitude,

Ingrid Miles, on behalf of the Ipswich Education Foundation Board
