How the Ipswich Education Foundation Helps School Sports

(from Ipswich Local News)

To the editor:

The Ipswich Education Foundation is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the excellence and enrichment of public education in Ipswich.

Beginning with early learners and focusing on the arts, athletics, science and technology, sustainability, civics, scholarships, and mentoring programs, IEF has raised and awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars for programs that provide enhanced educational experiences for our students and teachers.

The IEF Athletic Fund was established in 2013 and continues the mission to support Ipswich athletics.

This was previously done with the leadership of Harry Lampropoulos at the Friends of Ipswich Athletics.

During this academic year, the IEF Athletics Fund has donated over $36,000.

This funded uniforms for JV baseball, varsity softball, boys’ and girls’ cross-country, girls’ varsity lacrosse, boys’ varsity and JV lacrosse, boys’ varsity soccer, one set of soccer goals, scoreboards used by indoor track, half for the subscription to the Hudl video service (used by many teams to review game videos), and practice equipment for boys’ and girls’ lacrosse.

In previous years, the IEF Athletics Fund has provided funding to improve and replace and the foul ball poles and netting at Mile Lane, contributed to the new electronic softball scoreboard at Bialek Park, paid to strip and refinish the wood floor in the Roundy Gym at the high school, and many team uniforms.

Donations for IEF Athletics can be made by online at www.ipswichedfoundation.org or by mail: IEF, PO Box 786, Ipswich MA 01938.
